Re: Greeeeeaaaaat! Thanks, Paolo - at first I thought a kid had lost its toy dinosaur. But this dwarf dinosaur was real. Every now and then he dared to breathe and you could see his heartbeat.

Thanks!Hey Gandolf. Fantastic shot. But how you can determinate the sex?
Gangolf Haub - Apr 12, 2007 3:14 am - Hasn't voted
Re: Thanks! The sex? It is a very complicated procedure. Luckily the guy didn't move as I performed it :-)
Actually I found this page on wikipedia.de where there are other shots of both male and female

Really coolThats a very cool picture. It's nice to see pictures on SP that are different from the normal but still relevant to enjoying nature.

Re: Really coolThanks, yes every now and then I like to see something different than mountains, snow and ice. And tell you what - it's spring and these critters feel the call of nature and put on their most colourful clothes to impress their females.
Life is beautiful...

Nice shot.Excellent photography. As to how he determined it was a male, I think he might have been a bit voyeuristic. Just kidding!

Re: Nice shot. This one didn't hide his gender in any way - the females are brown all over, the males have a green head and belly. And when they get in the mood - they get as brightly green as this one...

This guy......is pretty cool! He looks like if his tongue would come out any second.

Re: This guy...Are you sure? I think he presses his lips tightly together to show what he thinks of my intrusion

Maybe......it's just wishful thinking, because I would have been tempted to give the picture 11 points, if the tongue would show up in the lizard-typical style ;)

CuteI know someone who would just go gah-gah over this shot ;) Yep, he looks annoyed alright.

Re: CuteIf we didn't have the image uploading issues right now I would have posted a real close-up shot, which I had missed to download from the camera. Eye of the dragon quality - you your lady might look out for that one as well ;-)

Nice macro!Nice macro shot. Very sharp. What lens did you use?
Gangolf Haub - Apr 13, 2007 2:48 am - Hasn't voted
Re: Nice macro! It was'nt even a macro lense - which I had thought unnecessary for the tour. Instead I used my one-size-fit-all 18mm - 200mm zoom lense (Minolta) which only works that well when there is enough light. 6.3 at 200mm really is a bit low - but that day I was real lucky.
