The forest is gone

The forest is gone

When fires swept through this area a couple years back, the sad result is a scene like this. How much was lost is evident here. The forest at one time went almost to the summit of this over ten thousand foot peak but today all that remains is this sad reminder of what fire can do to what was once a forest that was high on a desert mountain. 5-12-09

Lightning-caused ??

I'm going to stick on the bright side.

A similar "tragic fire" occurred atop Brins
Mesa (near Sedona, AZ) three years ago.
Upon recently returning to that area, the
views are just as spectacular, and all the
wildlife and wildflowers seem to be coming back. Nature always has a way of recovering
and dominating over the carelessness of man.

Nice representation of the effects of a wildfire, Dean !!!
