Nice trip report man. I miss that place, laid-back climbing, granite, sweet sweet granite...
Thanks Jason! Yeah man - that right there is what the City is all about: great climbing in a laid back atmosphere. Love that place! Got the pic's from you in the email, will check them out now.
THAT PLACE LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!! such great photos...u guys are total climbing junkies...my kinda people!!
:) thanks man - appreciate the good word. You guys should check that place out. It's only a little further from Vancouver than from PDX (OK, maybe 2-3 hrs. further I'd guess).
Sweet granite and nothing broken. Nice TR.
thank you very much! yeah, no breaks or blood :)
Was just there a few weeks before you, such good climbing.
What did you think about Z Cracks? I've never lead it but i followed it last year and thought it was pretty hard for 5.9. Very strenous/awkward crack climbing. Pretty fun though.
I need to get out there and get on Thin Slice, it's always got someone on it though.
yeah - love that place. We really wanted to go back the following weekend (despite the required 19 hrs driving for 1.5 days of climbing) but other stuff came up.
The one thing I remember about Z-Cracks is this great handjam I got at the bulge....so great that I couldn't free my hand, thought I was gonna fall onto it and break my wrist, but finally wiggled it out. Awkward stuff.
Thin Slice is a cool route & I think you'd like it - much thin/technical face at the crux. By the way, I liked it a lot more following Shirley's (clean) lead than couple years back when I led it (with a hang :)
Tis a nice trip report with great pics from a variety of excellent climbs. Thanks for sharing.
and by the way, YOU ROCK! Great SP power, hombre. I recently posted a trip report to Ancient Art Stolen Chimney if your interested in a story I submitted to the Juneau Empire up here.
hey thanks again :)
will check out the tr
