Lower and Upper Falls, Clear Lake, Artist's Point
Started at Artist's Point and hiked along the rim to the Lower Falls, then up past the Upper Falls. Turned away from the canyon and hiked along some beautiful rolling grassy hills into a forest where I passed Clear Lake and some sulfur mudpots, which were cool, then back to the car. Wish I had more time to explore, definitely coming back!

Family Fun
Enjoyed south rim with family, including a daughter with mild cerebral palsy. Walked from start of trail to Uncle Tom's point. Picnic with Buffalo back near trail head. Artist Point closed.
Visited the area during a family vacation. Did some hiking around to get good views of both of the falls. It was a splendid area. The top of Mt Washburn also had some really good views of the canyon.

Home
I called Canyon Village "home" for the summers of 04 and 05. My best memories of this place are the full moon nights at Artist Point and the salmonfly hatch at Sevenmile Hole.
I've hiked this trail a few times, and I always send friends and family. Start at the Upper Falls and walk away, across the rim road and follow the trail away from the canyon into the woods. After checking out the super cool mudpots, and wandering through the forest, you are rewarded with a precipitous first view of the canyon, without the crowds, near Point Sublime. Follow the rim of the canyon back to Artist Point to see the Lower Falls, then back to the Upper Falls. It's a great way to enjoy the canyon with and without the crowds.

Very Nice
Hiked most of the trails in and around Lower and Upper Falls. What an amazing area! Imagine the first Native Americans or hunter/trappers that saw this with no tourists!

BeautifulDid a couple of trails (one, backcountry; one, not so much) in the canyon back around summer of 2001 or so. A really beautiful area.
Returned in July 2008 for some more shenanigans.

BeautifulThe South Rim Trail is surreal -- paralleling a road (mostly out of sight) but you pop out and join the crowds at each "major" view point.
We saw a weird snow ledge from Uncle Tom's Trail, which I've attached.
