Re: Gorgeous!!!

This is an incredible photo.
I am, however, confused by the speck of light on the right. If it's a tent, then it must be an awfully large tent compared to the size of the mountain it's perched on. It is also so bright that it makes a reflection against the dark rock face behind it. If you click on the photo and view it in the large format you will see what I'm talking about. How large is the tent? And, how big is the spire the tent is pitched on? Thank you in advance.

Re: Tent

A very interesting tent when viewed in large format. Maybe a UFO? Or a spot where the image used for the sky got mis... oh, never mind ;)

Re: Gorgeous!!!

The size and the scale in Mountains - are very tricky. Tent stands
at the place not far away, but about the light - you are absolutely right. It's a
day light time and night colors are impossible... I would say, that this is a light in
my mind, a kind of a post story... A kind of emotion...
The answer to the question - What was after this fantastic sun set? And the story was - we climbed the
summit of Free Spain specially to make nice sun-set photo on
Ushba Grandeur and its surrounding. I made a lot of sets and we were
almost ready to drop down by the Dulfers rope. But I was waiting and
waiting for more colors, and my friend told me, that we miss the
light, could not get the tent in time and spent night in cold
tent-less style... I asked him to wait more and more... Then finally
it was the picture, you see on my photo. I made it and we started make
a descent... And then "suddenly" night come. There were some very
dangerous stone-fall I almost meet with my brain-no head. With some
problems we descent to snow saddle already in the night, but could not
move to the tent along a cornice crest. And all the cold night with
time-by-time snow and rain, I saw our warm lighting tent with our
friends, as a dream about Civilization. I made a few photos of this
lighting tent... And place this light on original photo...
So this is a story... You see, how many words... Usually I do not like
to say so much, but prefer to place on the photo some back ground
details to tell people some story, not in words, but in
feelings...

Re:Tent!!!

Thanks for the honest answer. So, you did this to create the right mood and feeling, not to be a purist in photography.
