Amazing piece of rock archirecture.
THank you very much for the overly kind words!
sorry about the park road in the foreground...
although the park road is a bit distracting, it leads the eye to the main attraction. great pic. i also like your pics of the 3 gossips. what kind of camera did you use?
Thank you very much!
Nothing special in terms of camera - think it's Cannon Powershot (?) 4.0 Megapixel?
that is really some "organ". Great lump of rock. Sandstone?
Yes, mostly Entrada sandstone, I believe.
thank you for your kind remarks!
Yeah, the stuff all around that area is sandstone. I'm no geologist but the term "Entrada Sandstone" is thrown around quite a bit to describe the stuff in Arches NP.
beat me to it by about 3 sec :)
Who would have thought that a photo with a road in it would make it to photo of the week.(•: Just kidding. This is a great shot of what looks to be a very special place. I would love to thow my pack in the car and drive there right now based on this image. Cheers William
thank you very much!
I actually really do think that it might NOT be the best choice given the road in the foreground!!
Arches IS a wonderful place. Worth a visit for whatever - a climb, a hike, or even a drive thru. Amazing area!
I was just kidding about the road. It works well in this image. As someone else has mentioned leading you to the point of interest. It is a deserving image. Cheers William
Thank you again William.
Great photo Radek, worth the PotW honors! As William said, this is not a typical road shot. Colors are great here, scenery fantastic, road is nice with those black curves and nice model whose shadow and big shadow in lower right corner give that extra touch!
Aleksandar - Sasha
thank you very much for the nice comments.
Not sure if this photo deserves the top honor of the week (the road thing for one) but man - THANK you very much!!
PS must've been my clever caption :)
Are you sure it doesn't have anything to do with your wife being in it??? :P
Just kidding! Great shot of a 'massive organ'. Congratulations!
Thanks Kris :)
Maybe the top honor is about the attractive wife in the foreground, not the ugly (by comparison) towers in the background. Dya'ever thinka that, bub? Just think if you had been in the picture too. What critique would the picture have received then?
Had I been in the photo, nobody would complain about the uglyass road in the foreground ;)
You can count on good pix from rpc and Shirley
