The Japanese Reconnaissance party to Mount Crown of 1985, they almost succeeded in climbing it, getting within 250 meter of its summit. The mountain is in the background of this picture.

K2 Basecamp China

Hi, I was at K2 Basecamp China twice in 1995, May and September. Somewhere behind the camp we found a memorial made of stone, with a couple of photos. As far as I can remember, the people who died were all Japanese. I cant remember the number but it was more than one. Are these the Japanese climbers from Mount Crown Peak or K2 or the 6000er behind the base camp. We climbed this mountain.
