Finally think I deserve to sign log  Sucess!

Having at last ticked off Pillar, climbing it twice and via 5 routes, including one on Pillar Rock I feel justified in signing the Lake District log. Over 40 years I got to climb a few summits and do a few routes, mainly rock climbs back in 1970's & 80's... but in last 3 years my interest has really taken off - and I have climbed Scafell Pike by 5 routes, Helvellyn via 4, have climbed all 4 of the 3000ers and with adding Pillar to the list I have now climbed summits in the northern, eastern, southern and now western Lakes - the product of this being 2 TR's, 5 route pages and one album on SP. I'm not done yet - though don't think I could ever hope to catch up with Seferix's May 2012 post...

Not enough time  Sucess!

As a towny my first experience of the hills was on a school trip to the Lakes. Staying in Newlands YHA hostel near Keswick.
Spent the week doing 12 mile walks each day and going up some small hills like Cat Bells. I loved it.
