The marmot of New Zealand : The KEA!

The marmot of New Zealand : The KEA!

The marmot of New Zealand : The KEA! Seriously, don't hang your smelly climbing cloths out to dry at an alpine hut and just walk away. These little bugga's love to eat pretty much anything, especially if you sweated on it, or it has yummy chewy rubber or nylon! Kkeeeaaaa!!!! This shot if from the French Ridge Hut looking in the direction of Rob Roy.

With that beak...

.... I bet they could eat about anything.

I used to have an Amazon Parot, these look very much like one of them. How big is he?

Nice shot!

Re: With that beak...

Keas are a member of the parrot family (and just as big), so the likeness is no surprise.
And I like this shot too!

Great Kea!

Those birds are vicious! They attack cars, boots, tents, cloths and are not afraid to try the food in your hand! Great photo! Love New Zealand too!
