thanks anita! Canada makes it easy. I have a love affair with this place.
I want to vote more than 10 to this photo..
Should be in Calendar..
Thanks TT, this view inspired me to go climb Sir Douglas. Cheers.
I like how the forground rock has a face looking outwards. I can clearly see the eyebrows, nose, lips and puffy cheeks. Great shot.
This picture might be one of the best on SP. Natural and very cool.
Thanks Jessica, this was one of my first major inspirations in the Canadian Rockies. Cheers.
very nice Dow - have not seen this page before either. Nice.
PS Are you still planning on visiting central OR this winter?
thanks Radek...eventually I went and climbed Sir Douglas solo...being so inspired to go climb something via climbing something else for a view like this was way cool...cheers
yes we are....going to be looking for a piece of land in Bend...want to visit in the dead of winter just to get a feel...will let you know when we get up there, might be right after the holidays....man is 2008 going to be busy compared to this year...cheers
cool Dow - let us know once you know....buying a piece of land here - going to build a house for yourselves?
yeah...keeping the place down here for the near term....and spending half the year in Canada still..but looking for a small horse place long term...where it suits us more for 4 seasons....when I am to old to go back and forth all the time....we owned this lot for quite a few years before we built on it...same premise....I think Bend could be nice...no grass for the horses here...my wife is in to that full time as I am climbing..kind of my idea to help her plan long term...cheers
wow every time i see the rockys in pics it makes me want to go climb there just within an hour i have made a must climb list
Thanks, and I concur...when I saw Sir Douglas from this view point on Big Sister, in inspired me to climb it. That year I did a solo ascent of the mountain. One of my more memorable climbs alone. Cheers.
I don't have enough time in the day to view all of your photos. Some of them I spend time looking at dreaming of the day when I can have a similar awe inspiring view. This photo is one of them.
Thank You. This incredible view of Sir Douglas motivated to do a solo climb of it...getting to the summit, seeing the next one and wanting to climb it next...can eventually become quite the compulsive behavior! Cheers.
Living there is starting to look better all the time if nothing more than the climbing with a field full of great mountain climbs all around.as for approaches what are they like I live near the cascades so most are pretty long during winter or some times even in summer too.
This is a spectacular photo, I've seen few that can rival it. Well done.
