This is the north bowl just below the summit of Peak 8,587. It has a beautiful rock strewn meadow and stream below large snow packs. The easiest way to the summit is to get off the trail and into the basin, then move around the rocks at left center, then simply go straight up the slope. The north ridge of the mountain is seen to the upper right. Its not a good way to try to get to the top. August 2008
