You should only point out where the photo was made from.

complimenti! (anche se in pratica è una foto di casa, per te, fortunato, con tanto ben di Dio a portata di mano... ;-)) )

Re: Ciao,

Grazie mille, Maria Grazia!

One day an SP member reading about my location (Val Gardena, Dolomites) told me, I should take the camera along even if I`m simply walking a meal off with a stroll. Well, I did it at his suggestion and apparently it was worthwhile :-))

Re: Ciao,

It's absolutely true!!

I know very well the place where you live; I don't know if you remember the advertising of some years ago, there was a picture taken in front of Ferrata Pisciadu, with 2 touristsseatted, looking at the Boe' Group; were my father and my mother....

I spent my holidays for at least 15 years in La Villa, (family Gran Ruaz hotels.....) hiking each day, I don't climb, only some Ferrata (Pisciadu, Mesule...), so I know quite well.....

Ciaoo!!!

such a fine picture !

I did a trip on Col dla Pieres in September - and did not see anything because of fog and later rain. What a pity as I see now.

Congratulations for the POTW!

Re: such a fine picture !

Thank you Mathias!

I took this pic about 2 weeks ago, on a typical "indian summer" day: no clouds far and wide, agreeable temperature, nobody around but a pride of about 30 chamois, in short, a perfect day. By the way, I took several nice pictures that day, I actually wanted to attempt my first SP trip report submission, but I have always such a lot of work, in addition I´m a sloth bear by nature, so....

People in the picture?

Are those 2 people in the picture or just shadows? Directly below the left peak towards the bottom of the picture. I'm trying to get an idea for the scale. How lucky you are to be able to take in such beauty!

Re: People in the picture?

The two dots are hikers possibly. The trails you see are only footpaths so the scale would be right. This is the southern side of the Odle / Geisler Group, which is (believe it or not) the less impressive side. The drops to the north are vertical and cover up to 800m in elevation.

See this shot, which was taken from Seceda to the far left of Viktor's picture (probably even outside the frame) and the picture postcard view from the north. The peaks on Viktor's shot are the ones to the right of that picture, the lower ones so to say.

Re: People in the picture?

Gangolf and Skibumm, from the 2 dots to the summit of the highest peak in the picture there is an altitude difference of about 500 meters, so you realize that on this picture even Michael Jordan woudn´t be distinguishable :-)))

Impressive...

These peaks look very challenging, but then again I am certainly no expert on the matter. This is a very powerful photo.
