The Peuterey Ridge and the Brenva Face

It's a classic and somehow abused image, but few other view points allow a better view of the Italian side of Mt. Blanc in all its glory: the Peuterey Ridge (with the Aiguille Noire 3773m to the left and the Aiguille Blanche (4114m) in the centre, and to the right Brenva face and the Grand Pilier D'Angle. Above all, his majesty itself - the Mt. Blanc (4807m). The Freney and Brouillard pillars are visible below the Brouillard ridge.

Picture taken from the Mont De La Saxe, more or less at 2000m, in the afternoon of Sept. 1st, 2006.

yes, i've seen your e-mail, I'll reply soon, it's a promise. Thanks for the nice words - in November normally the foreground grass and the pines are red/brown/yellow, same color as this picture:

Otherwise, the Aiguille Noire is plastered with ice, but there's not very much more snow on Mt. Blanc! For that you must wait for February...
