Pinnacle-Pulpit Rock Loop from Blue Rocks CampgroundBlue Rocks Campground has connector trails to the AT which allow a loop that hits both The Pinnacle and Pulpit Rock (basically the only nice thing I can say about the campground). Went up the Pinnacle side first, which was a good idea because it involved a decent amount of scrambling that would've been awful to do descending. Fortunately the weather, which was crazy all weekend, was perfect for the hike. Absolutely one of the best views you'll see in Pennsylvania.

vulture aerie loop hikeCame up from the river of rocks campground and it was only 53 minutes to the ‘summit’. The bluffs were pretty fantastic and to extend the hike I went back via Pulpit and down a different trail. A very pleasant area.

Must Go.We come up here several times a year by various trails. If you do make it up, you can't leave without going down into the "cave".

Great viewA nice hike to the end. Its view was very nice, and it also had a bunch rock you could craw around inside.
Just hiked it again on Jan. 23 2009.

A.T. via Pulpit RockBeautiful day to climb. Ran into a bunch of other hikers. Temps were in the low 20's. The visibility was great and so was the hike.

fun caving side tripWhat a great surprise to find along the AT. I explored the crack system with my headlamp and burned a roll of film on the ospreys in that sad time before digital.

Route Climbed: AT via Pulpit Rock, Date Climbed: April 18, 2005It was a nice early spring day. Got lost on the way to the trail head (took the wrong turn left instead of right) and there was almost no spot to park at the parking area. Did not run to that many people though. Would like to check out the observatory at the Pulpit rock during some nice star filled summer night.

Route Climbed: A.T. (via Pulpit Rock) Date Climbed: November 26th, 2005Wasn't expecting as much snow as there ended up being. Scrambled a bit up to the ridge below Pulpit Rock because I was getting bored. Traversed a section of the cliffs below the Pinnacle for the same reason. Will head back some day to check out the cave.

Route Climbed: A.T. Date Climbed: October 17, 2005Gorgeous Fall Day. The leaves were just starting to change and the views were breathtaking. Found a cool cave on the summit that I'll have to go back and check out sometime. This is now going to be an annual fall event. Summitted with my good friend Brad. Beautiful place!

Route Climbed: Yellow blaze from Blue Rocks to AT Date Climbed: 7/29/05What an amazing view on a beautiful day. The farmland of PA looks spectacular from this viewpoint. An old "Red Baron" airplane greeted us as we summited. This was the first time I had been on The Pinnacle despite having lived in PA for 5 years. I am still wondering what is in the "secret entrance" below the rocks.
