At first glance......I thought that this was Scotland. Nice pic.

The similarity with Scotland has been noted before, with rime covered rock and frozen turf / vegetation being the order of the day.
At 34 deg S latitude and only 2000m altitude the alpine climbing in the Hex River mountains near Cape Town certainly has it's moments, with the ice / snow generally providing only insecure axe and crampon placements. It's something for the real enthusiast - but we had a fun day nevertheless!
