The Seal Rock from the West

The Seal Rock from the West

The Seal Rock, here seen from the west, is one of the most interesting formations on Nebel Horn, a secondary summit of Bear Peak. As for most crags in the area, Rossiter's guidebook and Mountain Project are good resources for the technical routes, which, at the time of this writing, range in difficulty from 5.4 to 5.14a. Beware of seasonal closures to protect breeding raptors. Januray 2005.

Re: bella la foto...

Thank you, Livio. From the east it really looks like a seal ready to balance a ball on its muzzle. Unfotunately, I don't have a good picture from that angle. As for the nearby Goose, I'm still trying to figure out how it got its name. Either I lack imagination, or I have yet to discover the right vantage point.

Sembra il dente del Gigante in miniatura.

Grazie! Da quest'angolo c'è invero somiglianza.
