With Round Top and Fourth of July Peak  Sucess!

Really fun hike, from Carson Pass went up to Round Top, then retraced back to the saddle and went up to both of The Sisters, then traversed some fun class 2/3 and some steep scree slopes to the saddle at Fourth of July Peak. Fourth of July was a bit of a slog up a decent use trail, after the excitement of the other peaks it didn't quite measure up. Took the trail all the way back to Carson Pass from Fourth of July. TR is HERE.

Both Sisters + Round Top  Sucess!

Hiked up to Round Top Lake with my brother Alan, bagged Round Top's true east summit, then bagged both Sisters via ridge with Collin; descended from the east/west col to Round Top Lake. There was a little snow on the high slopes from a recent storm... not enough to ski but it didn't prevent one couple from dragging their gear up there anyway.

With Round Top  Sucess!

We climbed The Sisters along with Round Top. Snow coverage up to the saddle between the two peaks was decent, but after that, both peaks were dry. Here's a trip report.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Looked over from Round Top and picked my little route up the mixed snow and rock. The view back toward Round top from the East Sister added to my appreciation of how impressive Round Top is.
No signs in the snow on top of any recent visitors. This little neck of the woods around Carson Pass is a stand out in the Sierras to me.

Stormy day but we made it to the top of the higher peak. Great view looking back at Round Top. Climbed with a team of nine from Sierra Mountaineering Group.

Climbed the higher East Sister on snowshoes with Sierra Mountaineering Group. Fun little peak made more interesting with lots of fresh snow and some great stormy scenery.

3 in one day!  Sucess!

This is a rare place where you can easily (somewhat) bag three 10,000 ft peaks in a day. The weather was perfect all day--in the low 70's and not many clouds. I started with Round Top and then moved over to the Sisters. Be careful of lots of loose rock and scree. I was by myself which isn't too smart to begin with, but I couldn't find anyone that was ready for an ambitious day of climbing. So I wore a helmet for additional safety and there was a ton of people climbing Round Top, so I felt relatively safe by myself. I left the trailhead at Woods Lake at 10:00 a.m and reached Round Top Lake at 11:05. Made it up to Round Top and the first Sister by 1:15. After the second Sister I retraced my steps back to the East Sister and returned on the Woods Lake Loop at about 4:20. It was a good day all around.

East summit  Sucess!

The weather was very iffy with lots of heavy thunderheads floating around. Got lotsa good photos coming and going from Carson Pass with the flowers and the clouds.

Got to the ridge via wind-loaded northern gully. Pretty steep, probably near 60 degrees at the top.

From Round Top  Sucess!

Easy bonus peaks after a nice climb of Crescent Moon Couloir on Round Top. The views looking back to Round Top are fantastic in winter.
