The stage is set for the formation of a natural arch near the Soldier Pass Trail!

Sandstone cave beneath a (non-freestanding arch) about one mile in on the Soldier Pass Trail near Sedona, Arizona. A natural arch or bridge is a rock formation where a narrow ridge forms with an open natural passageway underneath. The distinction between a "natural arch" and a "natural bridge" is somewhat arbitrary. (Typically, arches have rounded tops while bridges are flat on the top.) An arch forms when a vertical fracture near a wall face splits downward through a horizontal sandstone slab, and intersects with a cave or alcove in the wall. "A thousand years have come and gone, But time has passed me by, Stars stopped in the sky - Frozen in an everlasting view. Waiting for the world to end, Weary of the night, Praying for the light - Prison of the lost ---- Xanadu." (Rush - A Farewell To Kings - 1977) March 11, 2009

Re: What a Theater!

I can't dance in Arid-zona, but my wife felt
the spirit, while I caught a few Z's beneath
a juniper tree.

Sunny's a good word for Arid-zona !!! : )
