For extreme-climbing, is the Steinberg over Obersteinbach, in the Northern Vosges, excellently recommanded ! There are any bolts or rings, for securing your climb, but the site offers too much failures and cracks, overhangs and hand-honeycombs structures ... At the Steinberg, is the climb very technical, interesting for experimented climbers and boulders ! The Steinberg is difficult to reach and to penetrate (unmarked pedestrian access), but very easy to localize and to see, from the Steinbach valley. Before climbing, you have to be prevent, with the risk of finding peregrines falcons on this rock. The Steinberg is not forbidden and closed to the public, but he's good known for having, manytimes, peregrines ... So, if you want to come here, for practicing climbing, please be quiet and move yourself discretely !
