Looks like fun!

Gee - I have to put some ALBUMS together, just to play catch up with you. Looking at this ...
I feel a sudden CHILL! Perhaps I can warm up by retrieving or EATING a Subway Sandwich. Hey, the calories don't bother me! PLEASE
have a wonderful & blessed New Year!!! :-)

Re: Neck Deep

Scott was just telling me how warm the water was when he went through. I want to go through on a day like that! The first few canyons I ever did, and Subway was one, were SHOCKINGLY cold!!!! BRRRR.... But after thinking about it, I don't think that last trip was that cold or the 3 pre/teens we drug along would have been screaming on that park! I know my Drama Queen sure would have been! I might have to rethink the water temperature. That first trip still sticks in my mind!

Re: People

are always discussing the air temperature,
but never seem to consider the temperature
of the water. I wonder if a person can
"black out" from suddenly becoming to
cold, like hypothermia or something.
Is your Drama Queen a follower of
Brittney Spears or Hannah Montana? When I was young, I used
to listen to Grace Slick sing "Knee Deep
in the Hoop-la." It somehow reminds me of
your Subway photograph. Brave woman!

Re: People

The younger ones are, but at 13 she is past those. I have not heard of that but Bo has SAR stories! There have been people that have gone in there and got too cold and could not continue and had to be rescued!

Re: People

Fortunately the swimming sections in the Subway are short.....air temperature makes a huge difference! If it is warm out it's sure a whole lot easier to warm up a bit before the next plunge! When I was yacht racing in 1982 in the southern seas (Sydney to Rio via Cape Horn) on about the 16th day as we were floating through the ice pack at about 55 deg. S Lat. I decided to take a bath on deck. The air temp was frigid and so was the water temp. It took me 2 days to feel warm again! :-)

Re: People

But you are one of those crazy types that take a dip in an almost frozen pothole during a snow storm. ~laughing~ :D

Re: Very inspiring pic

I just asked him - he sent it and I loaded it. ;)

What do you mean then?!!?! Is the smile alone, while swimming in ICE COLD water, not worth 10 points. ~laughing~

Re: Very inspiring pic

Thanks -
you are right in a way.
However, I think the best pic is quite useless if important details cannot be discerned, so I never vote 10 if a pic when clicked to maximum does not show up larger than before.

Re: Amazing colors

It is so colorful and pretty there! Some say it's the prettiest slot anywhere, but it's not my favorite. I get to head there again Sunday. I plan on getting my best pictures ever this time! :)

Re: Amazing colors

I just went there again yesterday and I think I got my best photos yet! It is an amazing canyon! It was cold in there today so the swimming shots this time were in a drysuit. ;)
