The toe of the Bow Glacier

This is the toe of the glacier. This is about 10 minutes from the Bow Hut. You ascend the glacier to the icefields. From there you can ascend many peaks including the Onion, St. Nicholas Peak, Mt. Olive, Mt. Gordon and several others. Some of the other peaks in the Wapta Icefields area either require a different approach (eg. Peyto Lake), camping near the peak, or a very fast pace. Photo - C.
