The view northwest from the West Summit promontory on a hazy September day in 1991. Myrtle Lake is below. Beyond at left is "McGillycuddys Peak" (Pk 4200+). On the horizon at left beyond McGillycuddys are Big Deer Peak (4,311 ft) and Little Deer Peak (4,475 ft). Yes, Big Deer is shorter than Little Deer. McGillycuddys Peak may or may not have a relation to MacGillycuddy Reeks in Ireland. There is a pond SE of the summit called McGillycuddys Duck Pond.
