THE WHITNEY GILMAN RIDGE ON CANNON CLIFF

The third pitch of The Whitney Gilman Ridge. The "pipe pitch" as it is called. Named after an actual pipe that was wedged into the rock for a reason unknown to me. The exposure as you step out at the pipe of the Black Dike Route is awesome. Having climbed on a dinosaur back for hundreds of feet with little exposure the move to the pipe lets you know how high you are. The climb is 5.7 with a great 5.9 variation on the last pitch.
