Theoturm

Theoturm

Theoturm, named after Theo Mann, one of the Südpfalz climbing pioneers. It is one of the most popular climbing towers of the whole area. Most ascents follow the structured right hand (southern) side, while the difficult climbs are on the blank left hand north face. March 5th 2011

Thanks for that caption

I really like it when the caption adds value to a picture.

By the way, although that right hand side does indeed look more appealing - how am I supposed to get past that overhang?

Re: Thanks for that caption

The climbers I watched on Saturday climbed the far side, where there is no overhang. With all the trees in between, however, there is only one place to take a shot of this formation: a ledge on the neighbouring formation, which runs out, just as Theoturm appears around the corner.
