Theron and Aidan belaying me...

Theron and Aidan belaying me on the last pitch of Slesse's Northeast Buttress. We had an amazing weekend of climbing there in August, 2005.

You will see a little brown thumb of rock outlined against a snowfield to the left and above the climbers.

That was our bivy spot for the night, and the neat thing is, that standing there, the view was equally expansive and exposed looking down! So when I see that spot, itself looking so far below, I can't help but think of a Mandelbrot set: worlds within worlds :D.

Re: Classic

Thanks! We've climbed a lot of the same mountains, Haydar. The "step across" on Cutthroat, the cool little trail and scramble of the Corkscrew Route on Sloan. Checking out your notes brought back some great memories!

Re: Classic

Actually I should thank you, your webpage has always been a source of inspiration for our outings into the North Cascades which can be quite addictive :) I see now you are in Germany, studying, working, enjoying life? Alles Gute in Muenchen, und hoffentlich kannst du in den Alpen saemtliche Berge steigen.
