This is Marcellina Mountain...

This is Marcellina Mountain (11,348-ft) from the Kebler Pass Road. This is one angry looking mountain that has cought the attention of many eyes. Marcellina is extremely steep on all sides and looks impossible to climb but while on the traverse on Beckwith I found this mountains weakness on the northeast side.

This is amazing...

...shot! I don't know how I missed when it was in 'what's new'? Great colors, nice mountain but clouds against that sky are the rulers of this one.

Marcellina in all her glory.

This photo does the mountain of my dreams justice. Congratulations Kane.

Re: Marcellina in all her glory.

Jon, here is another one for you. I liked the lighting in this shot for it realy show off the ruggedness of the wall of rock surrounding this cool little mountain.

Yep, One of my Favorites

I have climbed Marcellina 4 times, and the last time down was the trip that finally convinced me to buy a GPS. Being on the backside of this mountain in the dark with no working flashlight was dumb and nerve-wracking. I scared up 3 or 4 large animals while crawling (literally) in the brush in the dark. But, I plan on hiking it again this fall...with my GPS and a working flashlight this time! By the way, the views of the Beckwiths and the Raggeds are amazing from the top of Marcellina, and I have seen a Mt. Goat up there once, and a nest of Golden Eagles all 4 times.
