I visited Thompson Point yesterday and the cabin has been demolished. I have been looking at it through binoculars for at least 20 years and thought I should finally visit it. I had looked at trip reports from earlier this year and noticed that it had just received a new metal roof, likely in 2017. My telephoto pictures from September 2016 showed the roof patched with new sheets of plywood. I'm sure whoever demolished the structure had a really good reason, but I can't imagine what that was. What a bummer.
