Thunderstorm over Basin Mtn.

The big storms of summer usually well up in the heat by mid day and reach their height by afternoon. Then they disintegrate with the sunset. There's an old Sierra credo: If clouds begin to form after 11 AM you will be safe from thunderstorms. There was a beautiful clear alpenglow sunrise the morning before this storm as is commonly the case.
