Rainbow and lightning over (left to right) Tower Peak, Craig Peak, and Snow Peak, viewed from the saddle between Haystack Peak and Schofield Peak. The picture doesn't do justice to one of the most unusual and spectacular displays I've ever been treated to in the Sierra. July 22, 2006.

Justice is served

I think it does justice (reading from your caption). Very unique and awe-inspiring. Before you even see the lighting in the photo, it draws you in.
It should have been a photo of the week.

Kind words were definately in order, I keep coming back to this picture to enjoy it. It has to be one of my favorites that I have seen on this site, and as you know there are some extremely good photos here. Congratulations once again

Excellent shot, I´ve always wanted to take a picture on a thunderstorm so I can catch a lighting.....this picture deserve a better position....congratulation.

That's...

a badass picture. Love the orangish tint to the photo, makes the lightning really stand out against the sky. Were you using a filter or is that natural lighting?

Kick-ass picture

I love this shot. Something about the color and mood that really captivates my attention. And the ghost rainbow crossing the sky with the flash of lightning in the background. Great shot is an understatement.
