Hiked the Three Tees from Icehouse Canyon to Baldy Notch. Took the easy way down via chair lift. Beautiful spring day, windy as expected in the saddles.
Beautiful day for a hike up one of the T's. As usual, the saddle was windy. Not too many people on the trail (maybe due to Mothers Day weekend?). One or two patches of snow, but mostly clear all the way to Timber.
Hiked to Timber Mt. as part of my 11 peaks day hike.
Fresh snow and no visibility, such fun! With Matthew. Trip Report
Icehouse canyon to Cucamonga Peak back down to the Icehouse saddle. Started up the 3T's trail to the Baldy Notch then down the ski lift to the parking lot.
Attacked by flies all day coming up the canyon, but otherwise a great hike. Saw 6 bighorns on the way down...4 ewe's and 2 lambs.
Last hill of the day. Fun day.
Great loop trail from Icehouse Canyon on the 3T's and down the ski hut to the service road.
Easy half day climb. Snow not bad.
It was a nice hike and my brothers first Peak. At the time it was the only peak in the area that we didn't need crampons for.
Nice half day hike with cdewhurst.
TONs of people, but all really nice. Snow/Ice intermittent throught the canyon to the saddle. 20kt winds & party atmosphere at the saddle, so many people. Just me & Rodeo Clown on the hike to Timber. Not a soul in sight at the summit. Gorgeous day!
I only once went to the top of Timber, a very obscured view with all of the Timber. When I used to go up Telegraph, I would cut up from the Chapman trail and go directly to the Timber-Telegraph saddle. One day I will return and do the Three T's trail.
Slogging through the BBL w/ 6 peaks. What a day.
i should have kept going to telegraph.
Don't ask me what got into me this time...but I was a speed demon.
Year Climbed: 2007, June
Quick training run to work out the soreness before San Gorgonio.
Our first goal was Timber Mountain (8303’). We met in the parking lot, and started up the Icehouse Canyon Trail though Icehouse Canyon. The trail was graded with plenty of switchbacks making the elevation gain much smoother. We met lots of hikers on the way to the saddle (Elevation 7555’). At the saddle we diverged onto the 3Ts trail, and completed the 4.5 mile trek to the summit of Timber Mountain. The total elevation gain for this section was 3403’. We signed the register, and headed toward our next destination which was Telegraph Peak.
Amazing how many people bail after reaching the saddle. Never saw a soul after leaving for Timber Mtn.
We did the 3 T's today. A bit chilly with the wind, but the spectacular views more than made up for that. Awesome hike.
