Baldy & 3T's from Baldy Village
I hiked the three T's loop with friends Chris and Tom. We got off in the Baldy ski area and ended up coming down Big Butch Gulch to Manker Flat, Fun! (Really).
I got there, wanted to continue to Telegraph, but fell down on snow and decided to make it a day.
Went back by longer Chamberlain trail and saw a very impressive rock fall.
First of the three T's
Easy enough little detour from the saddle. Views are much better from other Ice House Canyon peaks.
Starting the 3T's.
It was drizzling at the beginning in Icehouse. That drizzle became ice at the saddle and snow at the summit. Totally cool summit, not the hardest ever, but well worth your time. I threw some pics up here. http://summitascents.com/2011/05/18/5-18-11-timber-mountain-via-icehouse-canyon/
Most enjoyable summit of the three 'T's' because of the shade on a pretty warm day. Hike was a very enjoyable workout as an 'out & back' as we didn't have a car shuttle.
3rd time doing this loop and I finally went the extra bit to tag this summit.
great hike, around 3900' gain over 13 1/2 miles
A good day hiking with new friends.
This was the 3rd peak of the day, a beautiful Three T's hike up from Middle Fork Trailhead.
Finished up the traverse with Timber, though a false summit between it and Telegraph fooled us initially. Descended via Icehouse Canyon. Long, but very satisfying day.
First ascent, peak 1 of 3.
Spent an hour on the summit, nice views!
