also did Abiel.
Started at the Mirror Lake TH. No difficulties on the way up, but managed to lose the route on the way down. Had fun finding my way back to Mirror Lake!
but there was a bear foraging around right below the summit. i was careful not to get mugged on my way down (i had a nalgene full of huckleberries.) the little fatty.
Fun hike up the SE ridge. It looks like Mirror Lake is a popular and fun place for families to camp.
Lots of snow and postholing. Got off route and into the cliffbands ( real sketchy . I had to drop back down after an hour probing and swam in the snow up a steep slope to gain the ridge proper. Once on the ridge it was an easy route find.
fun little peak. Lots of snow. Mirror lake still frozen
This fall has offered a lot of sunny days in the Cascades and this was yet another one. Climbed Tinkham and Abiel Peaks starting from the Mirror Lake trailhead. Had both summits to myself. About 8 miles roundtrip.
