Tinkham Peak  Sucess!

Ascended via Mirror and Cottonwood Lake trail. Right after we hit the rocky section after the treeline, we crossed a bunch of unstable boulders, but when we came down, there was a clear path to avoid that, if we'd gone climbers right.
Near the top, there was a guy with a charming and huge puppy, and a drone which serenaded us with angry hornet noises for most of our descent to treeline.

Northeast ridge  Sucess!

Didn't know anything about trails or routes. Just thought Mirror Lake was a shorter approach. Climbed the east face boulders and traversed right, above cliff bands to the northeast ridge and up. Class 2 and 3 with some exposure. Now I know it is easier.

Tinkham  Sucess!

Really enjoyed this one - great views for a modest effort. The route stays in the shade most of the day, and just enough scrambling at the top to keep it interesting. Done as a 3fer with Meadow and Abiel.

Easy peasy  Sucess!

Nice, easy day. Obscene amount of flagging on the TRAIL we descended. Ornery BF took care of that.

Trifecta  Sucess!

Started out at the Mirror Lake trailhead and did Tinkham (east), Tinkham (west), Abiel, and Silver on a beautiful Saturday morning. I lost the trail a couple times but found it again easily. Silver had the best summit view IMO. Gorgeous day, and an awesome loop! I'd do it again!

Nice hiking.  Sucess!

Did an East Tinkham, West Tinkham, Abiel, Silver loop. The extensive climber trails (more like a regular trail for much of the way, especially on Silver), made the going easy and quick. Even with a bit a dawdling, did the loop in about 5 hours and 45 minutes. Much of the route is only minimumly treed, so the views are great. Very enjoyable.

Steep But Enjoyable  Sucess!

Sunrise hike. Great views from the two summits, despite haziness from NW wildfires. I'm glad to get this off my "failed attempts" list, and the SE route was much more enjoyable than the NW route which I previously attempted (although that effort had been thwarted by downsloping icy rocks). The SE ridge boot path is much more worn-down than when Klenke did it, years ago. Easy and highly recommended.

Easy  Sucess!

Don't believe the hype. This was easy- I don't know why the boot path gets such a bad rap. Great views from both summits- Tinkham Tarns looked pretty from the east summit. Did this as part of a "Silver-Abiel-Tinkham West-Tinkham East" circuit.

& Silver w/ TNAB  Sucess!

The scramble is akin to a Pepperoncini, not quite a Jalepeno, but just spicy enough. Soaked in good views as low clouds began to infiltrate the western valleys, then moved on over to Silver.

Peak Trifecta! (Sort Of)

With Tinkham Peak located so close to Silver Peak and Abiel Peak, it was decided to visit all three peaks. We were successful with reaching the Abiel and Silver summits, but had to turn around just short of the Tinkham summit (although we made it to the summit ridge) due to icy conditions. The weather was very foggy and cloudy, but the route was easy to follow. Many paths leading in many directions between these peaks, but essentially they all intersect at one point or another.

SE Ridge  Sucess!

On my first attempt (10/24/09) I got to within perhaps 20 feet of the summit via the north route before sheets of down-sloping ice turned me around.

I returned with Natasha on 8/24/13 to get the summit via the SE ridge.
