Titcomb basin, Wind River Range, WY

Titcomb basin, Wind River Range, WY

The sun broke through the stormy sky and gave me just enough time to capture this scene. I just intuitively ran and used the lake as a foreground. The reflection isn't perfect, but the water was still enough to transmit the gold light. It was taken during a week stay around the Titcomb Basin, near the Surprise lake.

Re: good

thanks for your composition compliment. I wish that there was more time to play around and do different angles. But this pic. just happened too quickly.

Re: Very nice

thank you. the light was really spectacular. like nothing I have seen before. GOLD on the mountains. It would be nice to have such shining coming out of my wallet - at least here and there...

Is that Gannett Peak?

Re: Marvelous!

No, Gannett Peak is quite a ways beyond. Over Bonney Pass, across the Dinwoody Glacier then you arrive at the base of Gannett.

Re: Marvelous!

In my opinion, it's not. It could be the Elephant head or Mount Lester. I had a tough times to find a good topo map.
The one I bought on a gas station in Bolder WY, is very savy on names.

This picture is as good as

GOLD.

Does it really matter what the name of the
peak is ??? Let's call it beautiful.
