Yet Again  Sucess!

I must be a glutton for punishment. Went up north ridge, over to west ridge. Last signature in Ammo can was my own in 2011. The ridge is still rugged and Class 3-4 and the approach is still a long one for a day, but the view of Warbonnet is still spectacular.

Return  Sucess!

This time, it went smoother, but still a good day with some route finding. Ascended to the the NW notch and followed the ridge up and down and around- some Class 4 moves kept me from dropping too far. Descended down a closer notch into the broad bowl to the north and out. 10 hrs RT.

Route Climbed: North Bowl- West Ridge Date Climbed: June 26, 2000  Sucess!

Climbed up from Baron Creek into a small beautiful bowl on the north side of Tohobit. From there a snow climb led to a notch just west of the summit on a tower ridden ridgeline. Up and down many steep gullies finally led to summit where I spooked a mountain goat that was just hanging out at the very top. He disappeared down the steep Class 5 north face much to my amazement! The scrambling and step kicking reached Class 4 at times but was mostly 2-3, but a very long day from the Grandjean trailhead. This was a solo adventure with a wickedly brutal descent down the south side into the trailess Goat Creek Drainage. Sean Duffy
