"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Cool BushwhackThe bushwhack was not too hard at all. Not too many cactus. The trees up top were a little annoying, but the views of Casa Grande and Crown mountain were awesome.

Last Day of Backpacking TripPlenty of trees. Short hikes away from the top give good views into the basin, through the window, etc.

From Emory-Toll saddleShort sidetrip from the South Rim/Emory Peak trail--disappointing views on top owing to the thick tree cover. Continued on to Emory Peak, and looped around the South Rim (best views of the day).
Second day of a four-day trip to Big Bend with my gf. Unsettled weather started moving in, and clouds enshrouded the Chisos Mtns by the time we returned to the visitor center in the evening.
