Topliff  Sucess!

Made my own way up since I wasn't able to find the faint road. Hiked up the north ridge and then descended another ridge.

Nice hike  Sucess!

Eric Willhite's faint road is faint indeed. I couldn't find it from the main dirt road. I overshot, turned right at a bare spot and then scouted it out on foot. I found something that was maybe a road, went back to get the car and after driving on it a short time it became more obvious and was actually easier to drive on than the main dirt road which had a lot of pot holes in it. I also did Thorpe Hills, 6187, 6033, 5812, and 5612.

Climbed after Thorpe Hills HP. Extremely windy during the day with an impending Pacific storm approaching. Nice hike with straightforward summit

Fun hike  Sucess!

I have very fond memories of this area, and I used to explore it as a teenager with my friends on a regular basis. We used to frequently practice our shooting skills, and one summer I spent at least 15 days camping in the nearby hills with my friends. I also learned some valuable life lessons. The most important is never give a gun to someone with little experience, and no education in gun safety practices. I had the closest brush with death in my lifetime near this mountain. I climbed to the summit on a couple of occasions, the last was in October 1997 with my good friend Jackson. It was a cool day, and after spending some time getting his 4X4 stuck in the mud we decided to make a climb to the summit. The views from the top were incredible, and we had a great time.

from the north  Sucess!

I found a spot, parked, then headed up cross country, dodging one area that was marked for no trespassing (a limited area). I was delighted with the great views I had and surprised at how much I enjoyed the hike of this little mountain (or hill if you prefer).
