Right after Grays
Made our way down an easy saddle between Grays and Torreys, and then hiked the rest of the way up to the summit of Torreys. Nice double bagger day with beautiful weather.

My second 14er
Like so many others, I hiked Torreys in succession with Grays, but the summits could not have been different. On Grays, it was me and one other person sheltering ourselves from the wind and cold. A short time later, on Torreys, there was a crowd basking in the warm sun of a June day. You gotta love this state.

Grays/Torreys via standard Grays Trail route. Overcast with some drizzle on the way down. Trail very crowded.

Did Torreys/Grays as my first solo 14ers...used the Kelso trail at the advice of an avid hiker and am so glad I did. Loved the scrambling and chose a few of the more difficult routes along the way. Beautiful morning...was 2nd to summit...made it down just as it started to rain.

With friends, Chels and Bryant. We descended off the ridge near the knife-edge via a Class 4 wall, near top of Dead Dog Couloir, then continued up. Dicey. Lots of fun. Patches of snow. Continued to Grays.

route climbed: kelso ridge
started at 7:00 am and summited by 2pm we took the kelso ridge ascent and there was hail and snow above 13,500. it made for slick conditions on the knife edge and on the sharks fin. it was very memorable and highly recommended. some traversing early on the ridge was sketchy due to many loose rocks.
