Easy climb with grays
Not too busy for Grays & Torreys. Hit Grays, Torreys, and then Grays again. Most climbers that day only did Grays. Perfect weather and the few crowds I ran into actually made for good company.
Got hit with a blizzard on the summit that lasted 2 days and left 3 feet of snow.
Pretty day. 5 hours for Grays and Torreys via Kelso.
Got up early to beat the hordes. Small group on summit. On way down, looked like priests taking a virgin to sacrifice to the mountain. Too many folks for my taste. Oh well, the tunnel was closed the night before because of a car fire. Bakerville makes a good secluded camp.
Do it with Grays. They just go together.
Climbed Torreys via Kelso Ridge with my two kids, 19 and 15. Awesome route.
A lot of people, but most stayed on Grays and skipped Torreys. Torreys is definitely the nicer summit.
Very fun. Must have been 500 people (not kidding) on the mountain. Fortunately only a few of them were on Kelso.
Nice quick hike, lots of crowds, and 5 dogs on the summit at once :)
Climbed Grey's and Torrey's with my dad and his friend in 1985. I was about 17, and it was the first time doing 2 14ers in a day.
A wonderful day. I LOVE the CO rockies!
Grays and Torreys
Climbed with C. Stephens
Enjoyed a nice climb up Dead Dog and some great turns on the way back to the basin!
Started from the bottom of the road at I-70 at 4am and was back by 10:30am. Visibility was nil for most of the day. I couldn't see the summit until I was standing on it!
an amazing route
First one. With grays.
Somewhere around 7k feet of gain for the day. No big deal right? Route was great. Was harassed by marauding thunderstorms on the way back over Grizzly Peak. Finally found a break in the storm and made it over and back down. Was a crazy day for sure!
After Greys, Torreys felt positively abandoned.
There was quite a bit of snow on the summit. There were some people waving a flag on the summit since this was just after 9/11.
