Bagged an hour after Grays. Microspikes the whole way, but not necessary in some parts. Whole trail down was mushy snow from saddle onward (icy on the way up to Grays in the morning). Light wind, cool to warm temps. Perfect spring weather for these summits, couldn't IMAGINE better weather.

Denver's Closest Best 14er
Dead Dog, Emperor, Kelso Ridge all worth climbing/skiing more than once.
Did with a group of grad school friends back in 2005. Summited Grays after going over the knife edge to reach Torreys. Roped up for one of the class 4 sections. Fantastic weather!

Climbed w/Grays
Not too busy for Grays & Torreys. Hit Grays, Torreys, and then Grays again. Most climbers that day only did Grays. Perfect weather and the few crowds I ran into actually made for good company.

From Grays
Got hit with a blizzard on the summit that lasted 2 days and left 3 feet of snow.

From Bakerville
Got up early to beat the hordes. Small group on summit. On way down, looked like priests taking a virgin to sacrifice to the mountain. Too many folks for my taste. Oh well, the tunnel was closed the night before because of a car fire. Bakerville makes a good secluded camp.

NW FaceNice snow climb, no-one else on our route or on the summit, though some skiers did show up from another route after we got there.

StandardBeautiful climb on a crystal blue sky day. A bit of wind from the saddle on up, but another great day on a CO 14er!

Kelso RidgeVery fun. Must have been 500 people (not kidding) on the mountain. Fortunately only a few of them were on Kelso.
