Great first introduction to scrambling in the Canadian Rockies. The living room set on the top is quite nice. I really appreciated the fact that there was a remote for the TV. It was a long day and I had no desire to get up and change the channel.

Scramble Route
Sweet and short! Amazing views of Moraine Lake and Mt Temple from the top. Had a good laugh at the handy work of some of the local stonemasons' work on the summit. Not only are there a ton of cairns up top, but there is also a complete living room set made entirely out of stone on the summit (TV, sofa, coffee table, fireplace, etc). Absolutely hilarious! I'll post some pics soon.

Scramble Route
1:15 car-to-car (after waiting in the parking lot for a storm to pass through) after bagging Paget Peak earlier in the day.

Scramble
Fun route. Good to do early in the morning when the crowds aren't around. With good weather the scramble doesn't take much time (1.5 hrs round trip from parking lot)

Scramble
Shortest. Scramble. Ever. Excellent views of the Moraine Lake area. Wonderful colours in the rock here.

scramble
great day, saw some climbers on the wall and waved back. Trip was shorter than expected which is always a good thing for me since I am slow. Nice view of Eiffel from summit. Only saw a couple at summit and not another scrambler for the trip. Lots of tourist though.
An awesome scramble with great views of Moraine Lake and Mount Temple! Alan Kane rates the gully as an easy scramble, but I think it is a borderline moderate scramble. It is fairly steep and a helmet is a must! We watched one rock tumbling down the gully towards us for a long time. In the end, it stopped before it reached us, but it just kept going and going...

Horrible weather and we had to get out. With the snow and fog, this small 1500' scramble fit the bill. One foot of fresh snow on the summit in late June! Something to stow away for a rest day if out climbing the Lake Louise area.
Route Climbed: Fuhrmann Date Climbed: August 23, 2002
Rob Laird and I climbed the Fuhrmann Route on 8/23/2002. We got a bit of late start, not getting on the rock until about 11AM. The first four pitches went quickly and we spent some time on the ledge above the fourth pitch enjoying our lunch and the views of Temple. The climbing on the final pitch was fantastic. Fortunately the weather was perfect that day and we topped out by around 6PM. After a bit of swearing on the scree descent, we were back in the Moraine Lake parking lot within 45 minutes.

Perfect Views!Solid scramble, lots of loose talus, few rocks went careening down slope luckily it wasn't a busy day.
3 hrs round trip.
Best view of Moraine Lake I've seen.
