Trailhead for Dragon's Back ascent

It has already been said by others that the most difficult thing about the trail to the top of Mammoth Mountain was to find the trailhead. It is in the Twin Lakes campground, off Mary Road. Leave your car at the Day Use parking area in the camp, walk over the bridge, and then look for the trailhead between the slots #39 and #40. The trail starts with several steep switchbacks above the camp, but eventually reaches a more comfortable slope in a shady forest.
