Thanks Antoine! They are really beautiful, especially if seen far from the crowds of tourists...

And another "congratulations" for guessing that I had changed my username ;o)

What is the best time of the year for hiking near Tre Cime ? (to avoid crowd)

Re: I really have...

Thank you, I like your new username, I guessed you solved your problems of mysanthropy...:)
I think the best time to visit this area is the early autumn, that the last years has always been very nice and warm. But this place is always beautiful, also in the winter season. The weekends of the summer months are always very, very crowded.

Re: I really have...

Yes, I like mankind again ;o)

In winter, I guess you need snowshoes ?
Spring with blossoming and patches of snow, isn't it nice ?

Re: I really have...

Yes, in winter you can go there with ski or snowshoes. Spring usually it's nice but very rainy.

Magnificent

Although million-times seen and photographed, Tre Cime are always fascinating and amazingly impressive. Even today I have pleasant memories of my ascent on Cima Grande, three years ago. But, times are changing: this year I feel my years heavily opressive, so I have to realize, that my high climbs are probably finished forever. That makes me very sad.
Thanks for posting, Fabrizio, Monti Rudo seem very interesting.
Ciao, Andrej

Re: Magnificent

I agree, I've seen them so many times but every time I find them different and more beautiful. And I'm sure that very few people have seen them from this mysterious place that is the Monti Rudo group.
You shouldn't be sad because you can't do difficult routes anymore, mountains are always beautiful and you can enjoy them also as a simple hiker.

Re: One...

Thank you! Actually it's not difficult to take nice photos of this amazing group, but at least this one it's not taken from the usual touristic places.

Re: congrats!

Thank you Wiktoria, but I didn't win anything, sometimes you post a good photo and it takes more votes than the others, but it's often just a question of luck.
Ciao!
