Route Climbed: N. Summit & S. Arete on S. Summit Date Climbed: July 1988  Sucess!

A fine day out scrambling. Ascended the N. Summit 1st for the view overlooking Cathedral Lakes. Then down climbed and ran around to the S. Summit.

Route Climbed: South Arete/Standard Route Date Climbed: October 26, 2003  Sucess!

A fun climb that marked the end of Tuolumne climbing for the year. The weather was absolutely perfect and the views of Cathedral Peak are stunning.

It's a fun class 4 scramble.

Route Climbed: South face of South Arete Date Climbed: 16 June 2002

Tresidder 2, Kim & Morgan 0. Attempting to avenge our earlier failed attempt, we brought a rope with the goal of climbing the south arete. We were stymied this time by tougher climbing than we expected. We should have looked more for the shorter, easier route, because it does exist.

At least it was a nice day and we had a chance to test our new digital camera. We'll try to return ASAP to retrieve the gear (one runner and a carabiner) that I left on route when we bailed. ;)

Here's a trip report.

Route Climbed: Not sure Date Climbed: October 16, 2001  Sucess!

The north summit appeared to be the high point from Cathedral Lakes, but when I reached the top, I realized the south summit was a little higher. So, I went over and bagged that too. Fun Class 4/5 climbing.

Route Climbed: Date Climbed: June 2000

With Gary Wong from London. We only made it to the foot of summit block. There was a notch between the north and south summit arrets where we had a nice picnic with great views on both sides.

Route Climbed: South Arete Date Climbed: Sept 23, 2000  Sucess!

It was Morgan who made me take notice of this peak a few years ago when he first climbed it. On my way back from Matthes Crest, I decided to climb this while there was still some daylight. It was my first unroped class 4 climb and got my adrenelin going better than the whole route on Matthes. Much fun! I tried the North Arete first, but found the South Arete easier. Trip report.
