Tricky Ladders

Tricky Ladders

The manuever from the lookout back onto the top of the third ladder can be a little tricky. It involves squatting down and hugging the rock while lowering your legs over the edge and onto the upper rungs. The rope being used in this picture is not left out year-round. The last of the Everett Mountaineers will take it back down with them, usually in mid October. You can see the base of the Queest Alb Glacier far below. Photographed from 6870 feet on the summit of the South finger of Three Fingers, October 21, 2006.

Re: Great picture, great description

Yeah, go get it! Three Fingers is still one of my all time favorite hikes, probably in my top 10.
