Ascent via Tominskov Pot ,
descent via Tominskov Pot ;)
I was in Slovenia twice to climbing Triglav, because is a very beautiful mountain. Both time i ascent via Planika Hut from Krma Valley in 6 hours, from there ascent to the summit in 2.30 hours descent via the other side of the summit to Kredarica hut and then back to Krma valley.
Beautiful route, beautiful ascent, very nice people! Triglav rulessssssss!!!
Made a one and half days trip from Rudno Polje. It was sunny, but the wind was thunderous on the summit ridge of Triglav and Mali Triglav.
It was my first time on our highest mountain, but certanly not the last time. The day was great, sunny and the view was perfect.
I went up from Aljazev dom to Triglavski dom and the next morning up the summit of Triglav. A good deal of this route has via ferrata charcter, which I found lots of fun! The view to the north was all in cloud, but towards the south it was so clear I was able to see the coast of the Adria. I went down via Staniceva koca.
26.09.: Trenta - Dom Planika
27.09.: Dom Planika - Triglav - Trenta
I went up from Aljazev dom via the Tominskov route and as I was not tired, decided to find another route on the descend. I did not know based on the map how difficult the Bambergov route is, so started that way. There would have been no problem, though this route is more suitable for ascend if at a tricky place I don't try to put down my backpack. I tried, of course it fell a few hundred meters down with all my papers, money etc. in it. I tried everything to get it from below, without success. I went down to the Aljazev dom where the ladies gave me food and accomodation, they arranged that the national park ranger helps me next day. And so it happened: the ranger brought alpineering equipment with him and as we went back to the scene, he climbed down and got my stuff. I'd like to say thank you to all of them again and encourage everybody to visit Slovenia and its friendly, helpful inhabitants!
Tominskova Pot up, Bambergova down.
Up to now it was the biggest elevation I did within one day. I started my ascent from the Zadnjica valley, from 680 meter elevation. Climbing up to the peak means 2184 meter difference. It made me really tired...
What a mountain, can't wait to get back!
Tominskov pot way up and return through Bambergov pot.
No equipment carried, but there was no need for anything.
In sunny weather no need for anything. If you can walk and use your hands to catch ropes and chains, you can do it in a sandals and shorts. Very relaxing mountain. But never tryed in a bad weather.
Let me know if you go in the winter...
Ascent via Tominskov Pot from Aljazev Dom in 4 hours, descent via the other side of the summit to Planika Dom and then to Krma valley in aprox. 3.5 hours. Very nice route, especialy the ascent!
Vrata (Aljazev dom) - Tominskova - Kredarica - Triglav Summit -Plemenice - Luknja - Vrata (Aljazev dom).
Start at 5:30am, finish at 3:15pm. A long hike but a perfect day.
Took the first bus from Ljubljana at 0530 to Mojstrana, then walked to the end of the road. Ascended via the Tominskov Pot to the summit, which took 5hr 40min from Mojstrana, 4hr 10min from Aljazev Dom. Descended to Koca pri Savici in another 6hrs. Long day with not much to see thanks to the clouds.
Zadnjica-Pogacnikov dom-Bovski Gamsovec-Luknja-Trzaska koca-Triglav-Dom Planika. Nice route. We had first sunny day after rainy days. Magnificent views.
Krma-Planika-Triglav-Planika-Krma - great climb, beautiful scenery, i'll be back!
One of the longest days in year, so we had a lot of time. Bueatiful weather. Great route and great mountain. Only few people on the route.
Hello ! I read your climbing log for Triglav, and I noticed your trip was almost the same as ours, also the date ! (31-01-02/08/2007). Only the 3rd day is a bit different as we descended via Planina v Lazu.
I remember those 3 days were nice, also the following week end, but after, the 1st half of August was not too good... so maybe we met somewhere on the trail ! We slept in Zasavska and Vodnikov Dom :
Here are our pictures :
Unbelievable view from the top, clouds on about 2500m and above we "only" saw the peaks.
