The snow slowed me down. Made up some time on the climb. But still room for improvement. Still the gnarliest short summit I know of. I’m stoked on sub 1-hour tbh.

Fun hike
Great view of Red Rock. Did the Calico Tanks after. Would have done more in the park, but wind was gusting to 40mph.

It was by far the most strenuous hike I have ever done. I could not have done this without the help of my trail partners Barry and Hayley.. who are my spouse and daughter. There were other fellow hikers who encouraged me too and when I finally made it to the top those fellow hikers said “ yea she made it.” I didn’t realize there was a log box at the top. Others were near it and I thought it was their personal belongings. I never signed a trail registry before and now wish I would have turned around to sign it. This trail took me 6hrs... sign said 4.5 hrs... I was slow... but did it. Is love to see Vegas from the top at night but this trail is way to dangerous to hike down at night.

Nice hike, more challenging than I expected, beautiful views of Las Vegas.

The hard route
A great hike that ended up becoming a climb. Poorly marked trail near the top third of the hike. When ascending to the saddle stay to the left of the canyon. We were told stay right and that turned out to be WRONG. Had to do a lot of solid vertical climbs on a whole lot of screed.
Never had any of the white, green or red marks on the right side like we did coming down.
Once peaked, view is awesome.
Started early - around 830.
With stops and bad routing, r/t was about 4 hrs.

Challenging enough to weed out most of the yahoos playing on the rocks down below. Great views and surprising solitude at the summit! (for a while, at least...)

100th Mountain on Summitpost - 54:10 Roundtrip
Ran up at sunset and was racing daylight. Figured it would take me 1:15 or so, and I felt terrible the first mile and half or so, but then got in the zone. I didn't take any water and was pretty stoked after reaching the top in 35:40 to find people had left water up there. Took a bunch of pics and then bombed down in 17:30. Pretty incredible experience for my 100th mountain!

What a great hike! If you have three extra hours, do it! I was very surprised how remote, rugged, and beautiful this peak is, being so close to Vegas.

Hated it!
65mph winds nixed our climbing plans so we resorted to a morning of hiking. This heap of crap was the worst mountain I have subjected myself to climbing in a long time. I thought about turning around with every step. Should have stopped with the lovely Red Cap.

Fun half day hike outside Vegas
Nice hike in the baking sun. I love this hike. Worth spending the day outside Vegas. Red Rock Canyon is beautiful and the visitor's center is fun to visit.
