Great hike in the clouds. Couldn't see a thing along the trail and summit, although the moody forest in the fog was wonderful. Great photos along the way. Also, once up there, at the summit, I enjoyed searching for the register-and finding it!

One of the best kept secrets of the Angeles National Forest! The trail from 3 Points offers solitude and beauty. I've seen bighorn sheep on this trip. Met author Jerry Schad on another. Great views!!! First did this in November of 1986.
Route Climbed: via Mt Waterman-twin peaks saddle Date Climbed: Feb 15, 2004
Hiked this peak with forjan. Started offtrail straight up the slop from the bend in the road about 200 ft above the buckhorn ski entrance. Went to Mt Waterman first. We were exactly sure which pile of rocks was the true summit. We climbed the two most prominent, but could not find a survey marker. Then went offtrail again down the south slopes until we came across the actual trail going down to twin peaks saddle. After decending the nearly 1600 ft to the saddle, we then slogged back up the snow covered north slope to the ridge just below the east summit, and then to the true east summit of twin peaks. It had been sunny most of the day but the clouds were rolling in. Summited around 1:45 in the afternoon. The temp was 68 degreee F (20 degree C) with no wind. Although the trip up to the summit took us a little over an hour from the saddle,. the decend down the snow slope only took 20 minutes which was nice, except for the fact that now we had to go all the way back up to the saddle to the east of waterman. The entire hike took a little longer than expected.

Date Climbed: May 9, 2004Kinda a long boring hike but it was worth it in the end because i saw about 10 big horn sheep!!

Route Climbed: North Slope via Mt Waterman-Twin Peaks saddle Date Climbed: February 15, 2004A nice day hike with kdonaldson. Hiked to the top of Twin Peak East (7761') via the north side from the Mt Waterman-Twin Peaks saddle.
