Route Climbed: Twin Sisters Trail
A nice hike up to the top of both summits. Not too crowded and has nice views of Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker.

Twin Sisters Trailhead
This peak is fun and easy to do in the winter. The snow was hard packed so I didn't need my snowshoes. I was surprised to bump into quite a few people this day. Although this puppy isn't very high, the summit was windy and cold.

Both summits
Finally did both summits after years of just hiking to the 11,413 point to the west of the actual 11,428 summit. Then we scooted over to the southern summit which is even better!
Not so sure on date...April 2005ish on a bluebird day, solo. A pleasant warmer-upper for winter ski-itized or hibernatized legs. Very icy at this time of year, bring something for traction! I had Yaktrax which did the trick. (can I get some points for making up new words? :)
Route Climbed: Twin Sisters Trail Date Climbed: Many times!
This is a great "starter hike" for anyone coming to the park from a lower elevation. Great one for the family as well. I love using this mountain for trail running or a sunrise hike. In late summer, you might even see some Bighorn sheep:)

Easy day hike...very pleasant and throughout the majority of the climb you the Eastern face of Longs and Meekers are exposed and they are jaw-dropping...
Route Climbed: Twin Sisters Trail Date Climbed: 4-September-2005
Got a late start on a Sunday, 11:30 AM, as church had to be attended. Then it was off to worship in a different kind of cathedral.
Weather was warm and alternated between clouds and sun. Carried wind pants and Gore-tex shell but didn't need them. We did experience a bit of rain, but nothing worth mentioning. Clouds blew in over Longs/Meeker while on the Twin Sisters summit. Thunder caused us to scurry fast down the trail.
Nevertheless, the descent was warm, sunny and delightful. Twin Sisters offers the next best opportunity to photograph the Longs East Face after Mount Lady Washington.
Twin Sisters is a fabulous hike. It's only an hour from Ft. Collins or Boulder, yet offers a rugged trail and the opportunity for a high-mountain ambiance. The altitude and distance won't kill you, yet you'll feel like you really climbed a great mountain.

August 11.
I had to do stuff in the morning, so I started at 2:00pm. Most of the way up was wet and cloudy, but no thunder. It cleared up a bit when we were at the summit.
August 16.
We started at 11:30pm and were on the summit at 1:00am. The moon was really bright so we didn't have to break out headlamps until the last mile or so of the descent. The summit was awesome in the moonlight!
Route Climbed: Twin Sisters trail Date Climbed: August 2,2005
First summit for myself and 11 yr. old son. Nice hike for beginners like us. Really cool views of Longs on the way. The best part is hiking up past treeline, the panorama explodes with magnificent views that get better with more climbing as you reach the summit.

This was my first major summit and I truly loved the hike. The view from the top was amazing and I will not forget it for a long time.
The best part of the hike was my hiking partner. This was our first major hike together and I look forward to many more hikes with her. She is the good looking one in the photos when I post them.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hike to anyone that is looking for an exciting and rewarding hike.
