Via N Ridge
Lower Lost Man Loop TH => S Fork Pass => over and down notch in Williams High Point E Ridge => up to low point between Williams High Point and Williams N. From there, a scramble up the ridge. Some moves near the top quite challenging (for me, a non-climber): Class 3+ with some exposure. Return the same route. It's been a longstanding ambition to stand atop Williams High Point. I've often (15 times?) hiked the Geissler Peaks (a welcome-to-Colorado family hike almost every summer) and, especially from the first Geissler summit, oft therefore admired the craggy severity of this peak.

Partial Traverse
Traversed 4 out of 5, starting at the north, with Scot, Craig and Rachel. Weather started to look iffy so we bailed off after the 4th one while we had the opportunity. Unfortunately between Williams and 13203 there are several gendarmes that cliff out and forced us really low, but there is also a lot of good scrambling to be had high.

Great scramble
I really enjoyed linking this peak in with UN 13,203'. The traverse felt more like scrambling on California granite than the typical choss piles of the Sawatch and Elk Mountains. I preferred this route over similar routes in the area, such as La Plata's Ellingwood Ridge. There is a good amount of route-finding between the two peaks (read: taking what looks to be a good route and then getting cliffed out). I wish I would have done the 5-peak traverse, as the quality of rock warranted more exploration.
traversed 4 of the 5 13ers ..ran out of daylight for the last one.. nice day ..some good climbing if you stay on the ridge.. lots of route finding.. mentally dialed all day.. which was a long one

Williams Mtns Traverse
Traversed the Williams Mountains which includes 5 ranked 13ers. Definately one of the more interesting areas of the Sawatch. Traverse involved plenty of 3rd & 4th class scrambling. Routefinding was essential. Long day!

What can I say, this day was one of the best I have ever spent in the mountains. From trailhead to trailhead, we didn’t see another human soul. The autumn alpine environment was something very special. It was so subdued, so quiet. It was also strangely homey feeling as this is a special area for me. We saw a couple of coyotes as we hiked up toward the Mountain. The hourglass couloir was quite loose. The climb and routefinding up the ridge was lots of fun. The crux move was even more fun. Gaining the summit of this somewhat obscure mountain was a nice accomplishment. I even had a little fun flinging snowballs off the summit in into the void below. On the hike back down we took our time enjoying the perfect and unique day in the mountains.

Excellent Sawatch Peak with a great view of the Hunter Fryingpan Wilderness. There are many more summits to attain in this area and will go bac in 2005.

A good day up there with Kane. The most unavoidable exposure I've experienced on a Sawatch peak. A lot of loose stuff on the left side of the gully heading up to the ridge. Lots of ptarmigans in the basin below.
